Re-Mission : This a game developed by Hopelabs, based on Cancer and the character and game also revolves around it.

Their First Product: Re-MissionTM

In May 2006, HopeLab introduced its first product, the Re-Mission™ video game for teens and young adults with cancer. Prior to the release of Re-Mission, HopeLab completed an unprecedented randomized, research trial to evaluate the efficacy of the game. Results showed that a specially designed video game can have positive impact on health behaviors in young people with chronic illness. Specifically, playing Re-Mission improved treatment adherence and produced increases in self-efficacy, and cancer-related knowledge for adolescents and young adults with cancer. Data from the study was published in the August 2008 edition of the medical journal Pediatrics.

Future Research and Innovation

HopeLab continues to distribute Re-Mission free of charge to young people with cancer, and we are applying insights gained from the development and study of the game to inform our ongoing work in cancer.

In addition to cancer, HopeLab is currently working to address the problem of childhood obesity. The Ruckus Nation initiative focuses on increasing physical activity in tweens. As with our cancer work, insights from the development and study of Re-Mission will inform our pursuit of innovative approaches to address obesity and other devastating illnesses within our focus.

Dell and MTNL have tied-up to offer MTNL’s 3G wireless internet service on Dell’s selected range of laptops and netbooks, in Mumbai and Delhi. The solution includes an embedded 3G Ericsson module with GPS, and MTNL SIM on Dell’s select range of laptops and netbooks, plus a 3G pre-paid mobile broadband data package with national roaming facility from MTNL. This solution eliminates the need to use an additional USB modem (or dongle) to connect to the Web, and by having an embedded modem, customers will experience an ‘always-on’ experience with greater stability and data speeds on the network. This ‘power’ bundle starts from an estimated price point of Rs 30,000 and will be offered on Dell’s Inspiron Mini 10 netbook, with other models available soon.
